Lavenham Sinfonia Masterworks
Lavenham. England's best preserved and picturesque medieval village. One of Suffolk's important wool towns is just a 25 minute drive from Bury St Edmunds.
The Lavenham Sinfonia gives vibrant, energetic concerts, with brilliant soloists, of great masterworks from our musical heritage. That we can do this year after year is due in part to the continued generous support of generous Friends and Sponsors.
Coming to a Lavenham Sinfonia concert is a richer experience than listening to music at home: all of your senses are engaged, and the enjoyment of the musicians is palpable. It is made more memorable by being in one of the truly great East Anglian churches.
Breaking news!

The Lavenham Sinfonia are exceptionally excited to announce that we are commissioning a brand new work and will be premiering it as part of our celebration of Schubert’s 200th Anniversary in 2028. We are really pleased to have engaged a young composer with strong links to the local area and the sinfonia itself in Matthew Olyver. Our concert celebrates Schubert’s legacy through his 8th Symphony (the ‘Unfinished’), a work inspired by this written 100 years later in Atterberg’s 6th Symphony (the ‘Dollar’) and this brand new work.
How you can get involved:
The Sinfonia is actively looking for additional sponsors to help bring this project to life. We have been generously promised ‘seed’ funding, but if you would like to financially contribute directly to this project, please contact us via the website ‘contact us’ form.
